Guest Chef Dinner – The Willows Restaurant – Pitchi-Ritchi Pass – Southern Flinders – “20 Years in business Celebration” for local ‘restaranteur’ Wendy Brown
Andrew was invited to don his chef’s hat and appear again as Guest Chef for a special anniversary dinner at ‘The Willows’ restaurant – Pitchi-Ritchie Pass. The dinner was in celebration of 20 years in business by local ‘restaranteur’ Wendy Brown. The night was one to remember as diners were treated to Andrew’s inspired native Australian Cuisine. The three course Guest Chef dinner started with a tasting entrée plate including Smoky Bay Oysters with lemon aspen and coriander salsa and Spencers Gulf Prawn Tails washed down with a Hot ‘N’ Sour shot via a “groovy” plastic pipette – an Andrew Fielke classic! The main course spoilt diners for choice offering three fantastic dishes served on platters, designed to allow a sample of each dish. A favourite of the evening was fresh local Kingfish in a green Lemon Myrtle curry served on a bed of steamed rice with fragrant herbs, crisp shallots and water chestnuts. The anniversary dinner was tipped off with a selection of gourmet desserts including a tiny Quandong crumble pie and two of Andrew’s delectable Gelato’s from the Tuckeroo Range, flavours such as Rosella Raspberry. The evening showcased not only Andrew’s culinary skills, but also some of the superb regional produce and native ingredients from the surrounding areas.
