The University of Adelaide Florey Foundation Golf Day and Gourmet Dinner
The rain clouds parted over the fairways on Thursday September 2nd as Andrew helped The University of Adelaide, in conjunction with the Florey Medical Foundation celebrate 125 years of teaching and research with a Gourmet Golf Event. Under the ‘umbrella’ of ProChef Andrew hosted a terrific day at the Grange Golf Club where punters tested not only their putting abilities, but put their knowledge of native foods and wines to the test via on-course mystery food & wine challenge stations, with prizes given for those who performed best. A rewarding drink for their efforts was offered at the 19th hole, followed by a spectacular dining experience at the Grange’s function facility. The menu offered the ‘weary legs’ of the day three sumptuous courses; starting with an Entrée tasting plate featuring Pumpkin Lemon Myrtle Bisque with Coconut Cream and Grilled Haloumi with Confit of Rivermint Tomato atop a crunchy Crostini. The Main Course of the evening had mouths watering as Andrew’s popular “tasting platters style” offered a selection of dishes including Free Range Chicken steeped in Lemon Aspen Tom Yum and delicious Chicken Crackling were served on a bed of Spring Onion Mash. The evening concluded with a sweet treat that featured a Quandong Crumble Pie with Roast Almond and Quandong Ripple Gelato and Coffee and Blood Lime Chocolate Lollipops. The day was a huge success and funds raised from the event went to the Florey Medical Research Foundation.
